Welcome to my creative space.
I’m Uzma Sagheer, a senior multidisciplinary graphic and multimedia designer with a passion for purposeful design. As the founder of Retroactive Studios, I lead visual communication projects that blend creativity with clarity—helping organizations tell their stories through impactful, design-driven solutions.
My expertise spans branding, publication design, infographics, digital campaigns, and motion graphics. I specialize in transforming complex concepts into visual narratives that resonate—whether it's a brand identity, advocacy campaign, donor report, or social media series.
What sets my work apart is the ability to combine strategic thinking with refined aesthetics. I approach every project holistically—from concept to execution—ensuring it aligns with its purpose, message, and audience.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a range of national and international clients, including UN Women, WHO, FAO, WaterAid Pakistan, GIZ, USAID, Oxfam, Oxford Policy Management, SDC, Save the Children, Karandaaz Pakistan, and Pakistan Microfinance Network, among others. These collaborations have strengthened my focus on meaningful, impact-driven communication design—particularly within the development sector.
Behind the scenes, I collaborate with a network of trusted professionals—writers, content strategists, and domain experts—to deliver cohesive, effective communication products. Whether you're building a brand, advocating for change, or engaging stakeholders, I’m here to help bring your message to life through design.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
Beyond Design
Creativity, to me, extends far beyond a profession—it is a mindset rooted in observation, intention, and continuous evolution. My work is deeply informed by practices that demand both discipline and depth, particularly Islamic geometric design, illumination art, and traditional calligraphy, where mathematical precision coexists with spiritual expression.
The timeless philosophies of Allama Iqbal and Rumi play a quiet yet powerful role in shaping my worldview. Their ideas influence not only the emotional tone of my work but also its cultural sensitivity and narrative integrity. Through photography, I document moments of understated beauty, training my eye to remain present, attentive, and grounded in the everyday.
These parallel creative pursuits—art, craft, and storytelling—directly enrich my professional practice, enabling me to design visuals that are thoughtful, layered, and purpose-driven rather than purely decorative.
I am a lifelong learner by choice: curious, adaptive, and unapologetically invested in growth. Whether mastering a new tool, refining an existing skill, or exploring an unfamiliar art form, I bring clarity, commitment, and a pursuit of excellence to every project. Creativity, for me, is not static—it is a living discipline, and I intend to keep it that way.
